So here are the latest studies: 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. I was planning to post a total of twelve studies during this sale, but added a 13th to make it a baker’s dozen 🙂
Studies #9 and #13 are in fact two interpretations of the same subject. The composition with the road curving around at right (with a tiny figure in the distance) and the trees to the left was very appealing to me. In small studies like this, you can try out different color combinations, different arrangements of shapes and so on. If I wanted to do a larger watercolor of this scene, I’d probably go with something like the composition in #9, because it has a more solid arrangement of shapes, though I also like the curvy shapes and the more playful feel of #13. For now, I’m happy to leave it at these studies though.
