Shifting Gears

We are in the middle of a heat wave, and I don’t do well with heat, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve added two more watercolors to the Closer to Home series, which make me long for the cooler days of Spring…

Apart from the weather, I also feel the need to shift gears a little with this series, because I’ve gotten more tight and realistic in my interpretation than I like. The last painting (below) was done in a looser style. Next week I’m going to dedicate some time to exploring and experimenting. Stay tuned…
