Snowy City
Watercolor on Millford, 26×36 cm
Location: Assen, the Netherlands
We haven’t had any snow here yet, but thinking about Christmas card designs put me in the mood for painting snow scenes. This is based on photos I took two winters ago in the historic district here in Assen. The snow was already starting to melt, but still it gave an atmosphere of nostalgia to the street with its old buildings. I do hope we will get some good snow again this year, though at the rate the planet is warming up this could soon be a thing of the past. Part of me would like to go out and paint a scene like this on location, but then, how do you paint watercolor out of doors when it’s freezing? Maybe add a shot of vodka to your painting water…??
This watercolor will soon be added to my webshop. Meanwhile, shoot me an email if you’re interested in purchasing or have any questions.
Add vodka to the water??? rather add vodka to the Artist to keep fingers defrosted!!
Haha, you’re right, Pat. I think we’ll have to keep both the water and the artist from freezing đŸ™‚
